"Propitiation"

Propitiation

That is a word you don't see every day but it is a powerful word that has a most wonderful effect on every person in the world. Propitiation means the act that is appeasing to God resulting in His divine favor avoiding retribution. This act reestablishes our relationship with God and in it we benefit from this act. The very nature of the word prohibits even the consideration of eternal damnation or judgment. Jesus is our perfect Propitiation that God accepted Jesusí sacrifice for not only all sins but for all sinners eventual salvation from sin and death.

Here is the verse:

1 John 2:2 and he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

My translation of the Greek Words written in this verse is:

"And he is the atonement for our sins moreover not for ours only but also for the whole world."

I supposed many of you will read this verse and try to ignore the simple truth that Jesus' atonement is to save everyone not just some as you have been taught. The bottom line is this. If Jesus is not the Propitiation Atonement for all people then he cannot in anyway save you. Do you really want to continue believing your salvation potential is based on Jesus' failure to save everyone else?
