Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
"The reason that the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus to deliver me from the law of sin and death."
This is Paul's personal declaration speaking of his background as a Pharisee. He was raised as a "doer" of the Pharisaical laws and in adhering to these laws he thought he would be saved. He was raised to not depend on God but his own obtainable righteousness. So imagine when the Self Righteous Paul was asked by the Word of God why are you persecuting me? So in this verse Paul wants us to know that what he followed was the law of sin that leads to only death. So many in churches believe "they are saved" by what they have done to gain salvation. Just like Paul, maybe you too lift up yourself having the "good sense" to be saved. This attitude robs God of the truth that there is nothing we can do to be saved.
We are called to preach the Gospel of eternal graciousness that Jesus came to save the world. He did not come to save a few or even most. He came so that the whole world be saved. Any belief that less than the whole world will be saved is a person that does not believe God.
